My energy boosting morning smoothie

How to know when to start declutter your home

What is a energy boosting morning smoothie? That’s what this is all about. How you start your day is very crucial for how your day will turn out and for about 10 years I have made my own energy boosting mornings smoothie.

Still loving to start my day that way instead of a heavy breakfast. Normally I used to be very hungry when I woke up, but I have realized that I feel much better without the sandwiches and all the things I ate before. I like to make various smoothies each day, but they always contain berries and fruits.

How to plan your energy boosting morning smoothie

The first thing is that you have to decide before you go to bed that you are committed to making your own smoothie the next morning. If you’ve never done a smoothie a good thing is to search for a recipe which looks tasty. There are a lot of recipes on the internet and you can also go to the library for a recipe book.

If you decide in the evening before which smoothie you would like to do you can also prepare the ingredients in forehand. Put them on your kitchen bench and you’re ready to go the next day for your energy boosting smoothie.

Make sure you have all ingredients at home if you´re “new” as a smoothie maker otherwise you can freestyle how you want. I have made my energy boosting smoothie for a very long time and I have also learn how to tweak it with the ingredients I have for the moment.

What you need for your energy boosting morning smoothie

Of course you need to look for a recipe and go to the grocery store and buy the ingredients, but you also need to have a blender if you don’t have any. There are many at the market and I have found my favorite – the Nutribullet. I love it. It has a very high capacity and makes my energy boosting smoothie ready in a few seconds. You can also blend nuts, frozen fruits and berries without any problem.

If you´re a “on the go” person it could be a good idea to invest in a portable container for your smoothie including a straw. I like the stainless steel straws.

Ingredients good to have at home

The following list is my personal ingredients list and of course you can make your own list, but this is what I like and have used for many years for my health.

  • Fresh or frozen berries (for ex strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • Fruits you like
  • Almond butter
  • Peanut butter
  • Almond milk
  • Bananas (buy them when they are cheap and store them in the freezer)
  • Protein powder (for ex hemp or peas)
  • Spinach
  • Cacao powder
  • Cacao nibs

Instead of fresh berries you can also use different berry powders. I also add my vitamins into my energy boosting morning smoothie. I always have bananas at home. They give the smoothie a nice thickness. I buy them when they are cheap and put them no-sliced in my freezer. Sometimes I slice them in half, because some days I want my smoothie to be less thick.

To get the healthiest smoothie don’t add any sugar. If you absolutely have to add some sweetness add a little bit of maple or agave syrup. Maybe it could take awhile to get used to drinking your smoothie without any sweetener, but when you become used to it you gonna love how healthy you are. If you add a banana you also add natural sweetness and you don’t have to add anything sweet. Let’s be healthy my friend and try to avoid sugar as much as you can.

My favorite energy boosting morning smoothie recipe

A handful of Blueberry or raspberry

1 tablespoon of cacao

1 dl almond milk

1 teaspoon almond butter

1,5-1 banana (frozen or fresh)

1 scoop of vegan protein powder

A handful of spinach

Cold water (add a little bit at time)

This is my go to recipe. I make it almost every day. Feel free to try it yourself. It’s so good for your health.

The last tip

Last but not least, I have another tip for you if you would like an energy boost. Make a thicker smoothie, called Niceghurt instead of a smoothie. It’s almost like yoghurt. It´s very tasty. What you do is that you take a frozen banana from your freezer, wait 10 minutes and then blend it.

You also have to be careful so that you don’t add too much water, because then it will turn out as a smoothie to drink. What you do need here is a high capacity blender that could manage to do your niceghurt.

There you have it!

If you have never tried to do your own smoothie I think you should give it a try.

If you liked this post please comment in the comment section and if you want share your own favorite smoothie recipe. I would love to get new smoothie ideas.

About Ylva

I´m a Scandinavian creative person who love all kind of creativity. After my art studies I went for a simplified life. I search for information everywhere and landed in Feng Shui. I started declutter my home and life and over time simplicity became my lifestyle. I felt in my bones that Feng Shui was “my thing”, so I started to study and became a certified Feng Shui consultant 2013. After that I have made many home consultations and found that everyone struggled with clutter in their homes.

I always follow the rule of “one thing in one thing out”. I never buy anything without getting rid of something I already have. My method makes my home uncluttered and I can concentrate on my art and the things I love instead of cleaning my house all the time. I have found the lifestyle I love and I’m here to inspire you to find yours too.
